The Tin can family welcomes you since 1894 in a quality Savoyard house, located in the Historic District of La Chapelle d’abondance.
Throughout the year, the Cornettes team strives to show hospitality, sincerity, and friendliness.
In the heart of the Valley of Abondance, discover a hotel complex with a family atmosphere, where it is good to live, winter and summer. At your disposal: four different types of rooms and apartments, an independent/privatize/autonomous chalet, a traditional Savoyard restaurant, a brasserie bar, a terrace, a Spa, a farm dedicated to parties and events, a cozy lounge, a children’s area, etc.
Located 200 meters from the first ski lifts and in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Les Cornettes has a ski room and offers preferential rates for equipment rental at the partner shop.
It all began in 1894 when Victor Command and his wife decided to turn their chapel lane farm into an inn. Named “Au mont des Cornettes”, their establishment became in 1904 about twenty rooms.
The year 1925 marked a turning point in the history of the place: the death of Victor Command and the takeover of the hotel by one of his daughters, Pauline, and her husband François Tincaz, mayor of Bernex. Pauline Tincaz, a talented cook with a warm personality, will for many people embody the essence of mountain hospitality.
The 1930s saw rapid growth in tourism and alpine sports, enabling François and Pauline to further improve their establishment. Together, they had four children: Francis, Régis, Gabriel and André.
Gabriel, Gaby says, will learn his mother’s trade and go to Courchevel to train. It was here that in 1952 he crossed the road of Jeanine Billat, a charismatic employee of the hôtel de la Loze. Three years later, they married and took back the Hotel Les Cornettes, from which they will continuously improve, not only the comfort but also the quality of the table.
Gaby and Jeanine had two sons: Bernard and Philippe. In 1976, the two brothers built the residence of the Chablais, now the Espace Dove, and launched the formula of free holidays: residence with or without half board. The binomial, accompanied by their wives Sylvie and Marie-Christine, will continue the transformations by adding a spa with pool and jacuzzi, as well as the Ferme du Papy Gaby, a space dedicated to dinners and events, equipped with a smoking room and a dryer.
In 2013, Philippe and his family decided to take over the Fleur de Neige hotel in Châtel. Bernard Tincaz will continue with passion his activity at Les Cornettes, proposing a Savoyard cuisine in his image: generous, sincere, and faithful to his roots. An exclusively homemade kitchen developed thanks to strong ties with local producers. A love of simple and true things that Bernard Tincaz and his wife Sylvie will have at heart to pass on to their children Jeremy and Virginie.
